Great honor for the president of Chervò Golf Hotel & Spa Resort San Vigilio
Pietro Apicella, President of Chervò Golf Hotel & Spa Resort San Vigilio and esteemed member of the HOTELS ON THE GOLF COOPERATION, received the coveted "Pallina d'Oro 2021", (Golden Ball) from the Italian Golf Journalists Association (AIGG) during the 79th Italian Open (September 15-18, 2022) as the creator of one of the most important investments in the Italian golf scene. This award, given annually to outstanding personalities in Italian golf, recognizes not only his commitment to the resort and the golf courses but also, in particular, his entrepreneurial spirit and courage when, in the midst of the pandemic in the fall of 2020, he managed, in an extreme situation, to successfully stage the Italian Open, a professional event of the European Tour (now DP World Tour).
This award was presented to Pietro Apicella on September 16 at the Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome on the second day of the tournament.
He was in the best company in doing so. At the same time, Francesco Molinari and Guido Migliozzi were also honored, two Italian golf professionals with international recognition. Francesco Molinari was, among other things, the first Italian to win the British Open 2018 in Carnoustie (Scotland), excelled at the Ryder Cup in Paris and won the "Race to Dubai". Guido Migliozzi made it directly from Qualifying School to the European Tour, where he won twice.
Suzana Hopf, brand manager: "Hotels on the Golf Course" congratulates Pietro Apicella on this special award. We are very pleased that Chervò Golf Hotel & Spa Resorts San Vigilio is a permanent partner of the brand association and look forward to a successful and trustful cooperation in the future.
And not only the Chervò Golf Hotel & Spa Resort is worth a visit. The brand's website www.hotelsaufdemgolfplatz.com presents an informative overview of the partner hotels and golf resorts as well as attractive offers.
